Montreal's Deadbeat (Scott Monteith) is renowned for an ability to craft impossibly heavy dub. Over the better part of the past decade, he's been a central player in exploring the outer reaches of experimental dub, echo-laden dancehall and other curiously rhythmic forms of electronics. With a collection of releases on some of the most respected labels in the world, including Pole's ~scape, Deadbeat's explorations have received widespread praise. For his show in Brisbane, Monteith is poised to deliver a unique set that is equal parts low-end density and texture, all housed within a pulsing mass of sound.

Deadbeat will be joined by Klumpes Ahmad featuring Adrian Klumpes, formerly of Triosk and solo pianist in his own right, with experimental guitar and electronics player, Shoeb Ahmad, in an improvising duo that takes on melodic exploration tempered by found sound and live electronics.
