Three unique and acclaimed contemporary dance artists unite for one exciting evening of dance. Lisa Wilson, Lizzie Vilmanis and Zaimon Vilmanis perform their new creative developments – Forgotten Interlude and Lake.
Vilmanis’ Forgotten Interlude was first commissioned by Sybella Blencowe for a tribute performance to her Aunt, Yvonne Daunt. Yvonne Daunt was Étoile with the Paris Opera Ballet in the mid 1920’s, but later left to work as an Independent Artist. Evoking elements of Yvonne Daunt’s life, her art and place in the cultural movement of her day, the work explores the tension between safety and risk in artistic and life choices.
A new performance work conceived by Lisa Wilson, Lake is a compelling glimpse at what lies beneath the surface. With the timeless threads of beauty and fragility, Lake immerses us in a piece both raw and vulnerable.
The Bell Tower II Series offers lovers of dance the opportunity to experience works that have been evolving in the minds and bodies of independent dancers and choreographers.
