Queensland Poetry Festival at Judith Wright Centre on Fri 27 August 2010
In an absolute feast for your senses, the Queensland Poetry Festival: spoken in one strange word takes over the Judy yet again to bring you two fabulously full days of FREE performances. Now in its 14th year this spoken word spectacular will set the Judy sizzling, reputedly rupturing with rousing recitations from local, national and international artists! The pinnacle, the mecca on the national poetry calendar, Queensland Poetry Festival brings to you a ‘don't miss’ opportunity to be part of this annual weekend extravaganza.

Queensland Poetry Festival kicks off for 2010 with its gala event Rupture the Silence. Featuring performances from Andrew Taylor (WA), Jon Paul Fiorentinto (Canada), August Kleinzhaler (USA) and the 2010 Arts Queensland Poet in Residence, Emily XYZ.

'August Kleinszhaler is 'a loner, a genius... concrete intelligent and rare' - Allen Ginsberg
