April's Fool at the Judith Wright Centre on 24-26 August 2010
A true story of love, family, strength…and the choices we make.

In April 2009, two weeks short of his nineteenth birthday Toowoomba teenager Kristjan Terauds died due to complications from illicit drug use.

Inspired by ‘April’s Fool’, an account of his son’s death by Kristjan’s father, the Empire Theatre commissioned award-winning playwright, David Burton to bring this story to the stage.

Using the words of Kristjan’s friends and family interviewed over many months, the result is a powerful mix of sadness, loss, and ultimately love, laced with humour.

'April's Fool' promises to be thought-provoking and ultimately optimistic reflection on how we all live our lives.

The cast features iconic Queensland actor Barbara Lowing and the multi-talented Allen Laverty teamed with a cast of Queensland’s best emerging artists. 'April's Fool' will feature set design by Josh McIntosh, media design by Craig Wilkinson and will be directed by Lewis Jones.

Warning: Contains adult themes, drug references and low level language.

Suitable for children 12+ if accompanied by an adult
