Canada's most awarded Blues Artiste in history is returning to the Judy, which hosted two sold-out concerts on his 2008 Australian tour.
Harry Manx is currently "Canadian Blues Artist of The Year" for the third consecutive year. He will be playing songs from his ten albums recorded over the past decade, including his stunning new album Bread and Buddha.
The New York Times coined the term "Mysticssippi" to describe Harry's unique fusing of Rajasthani Raga's with traditional Delta Blues of the USA. He's been dubbed an essential link between the music of East and West. Having lived in Europe, Japan, India and Brazil, it was his five-year tutelage with renowned Rajasthani musician Vishwa Mohan Bhatt that forged his now signature style.
Playing lap-slide guitar, harmonica, banjo, stomp-percussion and the 20-stringed Mohan Veena, Harry envelopes his audience into "The Harry Zone" with his warm vocals and haunting original songs, plus his often quirky reworks of some classic blues songs.
For his Australian concerts, Harry will be joined by brilliant Sydney-based keyboardist Clayton Doley of The Hands and will play two full sets in what is truly "An Evening with Harry Manx".
“For sheer musical adventure, few compare with Manx”…..Bruce Elder, Sydney Morning Herald.
“I’ve discovered something new tonight, seeing Harry play”….Bruce Springsteen. 2005.
